Dear Friends,
As we enter into the last few days of campaigning prior to the June 8th election day, I want to thank you and the many, wonderful, supportive people who have made the Campaign to Elect Wally Holbrook possible. In some ways it seems like yesterday, as we huddled together under cold rainy skies at the old Hell’s Bend Schoolhouse.
We proclaimed that by working “together” our students will thrive and not just survive and that I wanted to provide the leadership necessary to come together around our children and education in Lake County. I asked for your help in becoming the next Lake County Superintendent of Schools. You and many others stepped forward and volunteered your precious time and resources to plan and organize a campaign that was, and still is positive, participatory, inclusive, student focused and fun!
Together we have:
Hosted over thirty small community gatherings in all parts of our county.
Gathered over one thousand “in lieu of fee” signatures.
Participated in seven forums and debates.
Organized numerous dances, wine tastings, and BBQ’s.
Met with service clubs, organizations and senior centers.
Knocked on almost a thousand of our neighbors’ doors.
Called thousands of our friends on the phones.
Walked in three parades and served ice cream on a sunny day.
And together we laughed and danced!
Your dedication and personal commitment allowed us to model how we can work together in the future for the benefit of our children.
Thank you for all your hard work. Thank you for your support. Thank you for your commitment to education in Lake County.
Please don’t let up these last few days; call your friends and remind them to vote; take a shut-in to the polls; make calls from lists we can provide you.
…And then please join me in Kelseyville at Guido’s Pizza Tuesday evening (Election Day) to celebrate the end of a campaign and the beginning of new leadership in education in our county.
Thanks!
Wally Holbrook
